CBD infused food and beverages are trending but are they safe? - PHD Organics

What will hold for the future of food and drinks infused with CBD?

August 22, 2019

One major question for many growing CBD operations, organizations and small businesses remains. Will the FDA eventually allow CBD to be put into food and drinks. Federally it is not allowed. However, state by state the production, manufacturing, and sale of these products still exists.

A massive industry projected for exponential growth, CBD companies continue to walk a fine line with states such as Washington State who is placing bans on CBD food products to stay in line with FDA rulings.

On the other hand, states such as California and Colorado are seeing an influx of CBD infused food and beverages and many companies are scaling up operations to meet nationwide demand for CBD infused drinks and snacks for national chain stores. However, this raises concerns of interstate commerce and these products traveling through states where CBD and THC products are still illegal.

As industry standards get put into place, the science community is able to test and run clinical trials with CBD, and companies are provided with a better understanding of Cannabidiol and its effects, we very well may see CBD food and beverage products in every store across the US.

Stay tuned for more.
